Onboarding Amazon FireTV Stick to the Ice House 5S® networkUpdated a year ago
1. Connect and power-on the FireTV Stick
Follow Amazon’s included instructions for:
- physically connecting the FireTV Stick to your TV
- powering on the FireTV Stick
- powering on the FireTV remote
2. Determine the FireTV Stick’s Hardware MAC Address
- In the main menu, select "Settings" (the gear icon)
- Select My Fire TV > About > Network
- In the information displayed, here notice the WiFi MAC address of the FireTV Stick. You will use this in the next step.
3. Grant your FireTV Stick permission to join your private network domain
- On any web browser, go to the Ice House 5S® portal: icehouse.5s.solutions
- Login with your previously created username (your e-mail address) and the strong password that you created at the time of your initial user onboarding.
- Click the “IoT Devices” tab
- Click “Add a New IoT Device” at the top of the page
- Click “Yes” to accept that this process is only required for less-capable WiFi devices
- For “Device Description”, enter something like “FireTV in Conf Room A”. Be descriptive so that you can identify your devices.
- For “MAC Address”, enter the address you noted previously. Be sure to follow the guidelines shown (i.e. lower case letters only).
- Click “Submit”
- Observe the confirmation in your browser. You will also receive an e-mail (from [email protected]) as additional confirmation.
- Your FireTV now has permission to join the “OMI 5S IoT” WiFi network.
4. Join your FireTV Stick to Wi-Fi
- In the main menu, select "Settings" (the gear icon)
- Select “Network”
- You may see the "OMI 5S IoT" network in this list. If so, select it. If not, select "See All Networks", then select "OMI 5S IoT"
- Enter the password for the network, which can be found in the portal, at the top of the IoT Devices tab.
- Select "Connect"
- The FireTV Stick now connects to the network, and the status changes from "Available" to "Connected".
You may now proceed through the FireTV menus to login to your Amazon account and any other streaming accounts you would like to set up on the FireTV Stick.
